A year-long, postgraduate mentorship program for dedicated movement professionals
NEXT START DATE: January 14, 2027
PROGRAM DURATION: 1 Year
TUITION: $4,850
Is this program for me? This program is specifically designed for Pilates teachers who have previously finished or partially completed a foundational teacher training program of at least 450 hours and are seeking to deepen their practice, expand their pedagogical toolset, and integrate the profound depth of the Traditional system into their existing framework. Rather than asking you to erase your prior training, this year-long journey serves as a collaborative, intellectual space to analyze, connect, and synthesize all methods of Pilates, ultimately elevating your expertise and confidence as a movement educator.
Immersive Technical & Systemic Training
10 Monthly Studio Practicums (40 Hours Total): Join the current teacher training cohort for intensive, 4-hour monthly Saturday sessions. You will systematically progress through the entire Traditional lineage, beginning with foundational Mat principles and advancing through the comprehensive apparatus repertoire. Each meeting balances theoretical analysis with dedicated, supervised physical practice.
The Complete Traditional Pilates Manual: A comprehensive, professionally detailed reference guide outlining the traditional order, biomechanical intent, spotting techniques, and precise execution of the traditional repertoire.
Personalized Mentorship & Professional Development
One-on-One Guidance: Includes 3 private sessions with the Program Director to dissect your personal movement patterns, refine your cues, or address specific pedagogical challenges.
Ongoing Accessibility: Open, supportive communication lines. You have direct access to the Program Director and Associate Director via text and email throughout the year to answer emergent questions, discuss client cases, or clarify repertoire.
Preferred Mentorship Rates: Access an exclusive continuing education discount on any additional private sessions, mentoring sessions, or workshops booked during your enrollment year.
Advanced Workshops
Deepen your critical thinking and movement analysis through four foundational lectures:
Anatomy & Assessment: Introductory study of human anatomy relevant to Pilates, basic movement science, and biomechanics. 2 hours live online.
Precautions & Conditions: Adapting Pilates for various pathologies and common conditions, including considerations for sensitivity issues. 2 hours live online.
Before the Hundred: Intro to Kathy Grant materials to use as tools to assist clients with the Traditional work. 3 hours in-studio.
Key Concepts & Movement Skills: Learn how to build a client’s session by thinking about how to analyze the main movement concepts of each exercise. 2 hours online.
The Bridge Seminar: Integrating the Method
5 Monthly, 30 min integration Sessions (Virtual or In-Studio): The core of the bridging/mentoring experience. These monthly collaborative discussions focus on the exercises introduced in the previous practicum. We will systematically analyze the intersection between your original training and the Traditional method. By evaluating the "why" behind differing methodologies, you will develop a holistic, sophisticated comprehension of Pilates as a unified, evolving movement science.
Continuing Education Benefits
Seasonal Workshops: Receive a specialized student discount for our highly curated Spring and Fall continuing education workshops while enrolled.
Self-Practice Hours available in studio with teacher’s liability insurance and signing the studio waiver.
Culminating Synthesis Project: An optional integration capstone tailored to your learning style (practical teaching lab, movement case study presentation, or written assessment).
Graduates emerge not merely reciting cues or memorizing choreography, but possessing an adaptable, deeply informed command of the Pilates apparatus as one cohesive ecosystem. Upon successful completion of all seminar contact hours, you will be awarded the Traditional Pilates Movement Collective Certificate of Completion.
This program is designed to help teachers deepen their work and inspire their teaching. It is not meant to be a stressful load with specified hours or benchmarks to meet, but rather to meet you where you are in your teaching based on what you need.
Nope! We can accommodate teachers who want to learn, no matter where they reside. In-studio weekends are based in Los Angeles. However, teachers can join virtually for all components of this program. Cohorts may include a combination of teachers learning in the studio, live virtual sessions with us, and some asynchronous watching of recordings later.
Continuing education credits are available for NCPTs (teachers certified through NPCP). An additional $40 processing fee applies.
The program begins with a virtual intro discussion on the date listed above. The specific dates of the monthly exercise learning modules will be TBD depending on the needs of the group. If you have previously scheduled commitments, we can work around your needs and accommodate all in the program as best we can.
The monthly learning meetings are based in the studio, but there is also an option to join virtually. Some workshops and mentoring discussions are virtual as well.
